Childhood Revisited

This holiday has been a time of reminicing, childhood places and pastimes have been brought back to life....

As a child my mum loved to go to the Sunday beachside St Kilda street markets and it happened to be right across from LUNA PARK. What a most glorious past-time that was for a child. How lucky was I?! I knew every inch of Luna Park.

There was only one  PANCAKE PARLOUR when I was young - in a little laneway, right in the centre of Melbourne (can't remember the name of the lane though?) It was an extraordinary place with the most delicious pancakes and the best malted milkshake ever!  We enjoyed a lovely family outing at the newly built 'Pancake Parlour' in my hometown on Christmas eve morning.  I had that same favourite pancake I used to have but minus the shake ... I replaced that with a new favourite, a cappuccino of couse!

 Mmmmm lovely

Christmas in Melbourne.... Checking out the MYER CHRISTMAS WINDOWS.  It was so busy!!  These days you couldn't just walk straight up to them like you used to. Now there were barriers and a huge line...my family could see how disappointed I was so they said "Come on, let's find the end of the queue"....that proved to be much harder than you would think.  Then we realised there were about 2000 or more people queuing.  In fact we didn't even get to the end of the line before I had to make the decision to just suffice with peeking through the crowds to snap picture where I could instead of walking along each scene to read and listen to the story.

Just when I thought that it had been a bit of an anti-climax for my family, my husband and I turned to see the most amazing sight in the Bouke Street mall. Amongst all the hustle and bustle we saw two old bikes with a sign leaning on them.....

That sign was such a relief to me and put everything into perspective... All is well. JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON.
